Landscape Construction Courses

Completion of CIII in Landscape Construction provides you with all the knowledge and skills need to gain your NSW Structural Landscaping Licence when you have completed your training. Other than gaining a lucrative and rewarding career, there are advantages to undertaking this type of study:

  • You will receive nationally recognised training,
  • You may be able to study flexibly to suit your needs: blended, full time, part time day, part time evening
  • Landscape construction is a government recognised skills shortage area
  • VET student loans are available to assist you with the costs of study (for Diploma qualifications only).

 

There are many options for further study once you have completed CIII Landscape Construction, however, one study pathway for a landscape construction career could look like this:

Certificate III in Landscape Construction

CIII in Landscape Construction is a nationally recognised qualification, which means that you can use it anywhere Australia to get a job and work in the industry.

This qualification is offered at many locations throughout NSW and the ACT, the main providers are:

 

Certificate IV in Landscape

This qualification is designed to follow on from CIII in Landscape Construction and allows individuals to develop post-trade skills and knowledge to become specialists within the landscape industry. It is designed to meet the needs of supervisors or team leaders and there are 2 streams, you may like to focus on landscape design OR landscape contracting.

Please note that this CIV qualification DOES NOT qualify you for your Structural Landscape Licence. CIII in Landscape Construction is the qualification required by NSW Office of Fair Trading for licensing.

Diploma of Landscape Construction Management

This is a specialist qualification for landscape project managers. If you have completed CIII in Landscape Construction and CIV in Landscape (Landscape Contracting stream), then this is the qualification for you.

Diploma of Landscape Design

This is a specialist qualification for landscape designers. If you have completed CIII in Landscape Construction and CIV in Landscape (Landscape Design stream), then this is the qualification for you. You can even do this having only completed CIII in Landscape Construction.

You can also enrol in this qualification without any previous studies to qualify as a Landscape Designer.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Have you been working in the industry for many years without having any formal qualifications? Do you have other related qualifications to the one you want? You may be able to have these qualifications, skills and experience recognised through a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process. Contact your local TAFE to discuss what you need to do.

Further Information

Once you have finished your training and have gained a CIII in Landscape Construction you can apply to NSW Fair Trading for your Structural Landscape Licence. You must have a Structural Landscaping Licence before you contract, sub-contract or advertise to do residential building work where the reasonable market cost of the labour and materials is more than $5,000 (including GST).

All contracts and Guides are purchased at the risk of those making the purchase.

TLA does not have access to the customer’s credit card number which is encrypted for security purposes. The credit card will be debited at the time of processing the payment. A tax invoice/receipt will be automatically generated and emailed to the customer.

Orders are ordinarily dispatched by Australia Post, Express Post, within seven working days. Five days should be allowed for delivery. This timeframe is indicative only. Every reasonable effort will be made to notify the customer if a delay is expected.

Provided an order has not been dispatched, it may be cancelled in full or part by calling The Landscape Association on (02) 9630 4844. Returns are not accepted by The Landscape Association unless the customer has received an unordered or faulty item, or unless otherwise required under Australian legislation.
